Polyamory = Not a Dating Site

So apparently this is not a dating site. 😄 It was advised to me for such. But I'm just going to keep my About Me in my profile as is. In the event that a guest user comes across it and finds me to be their cup of tea... it's chamomile with honey.😅

Hi Sinclair,

Yeah, Polyamory.com is more about just having discussions about poly and whatnot. We do have Dating/Friendship boards it's true, but they're not really designed to foster romantic connections. It is possible of course to make new friends on Polyamory.com, and who knows when a friendship might grow into something more. Sometimes I think dating sites/apps are overrated anyway, the best way to meet new dating potentials is to meet them in person.

My 2¢,
Kevin T.

People have met real-life partners by participating in regular discussion here. Some notable examples over the years are redpepper/derbylicious, Ariakas/Sour Girl, and Al99/Bouncing Betty, but none of those were because of dating ads or cruising profiles (I don't think any of them are still together, but some of them occasionally still post here). Even I have met a bunch of people on here in real life both who live near me and who were passing through my area and stopped by to say hello.

At the same time, we have no way of knowing how many people have been successful in using the "dating and friendships" part of the forum, which was created by the founders of this forum as a way of keeping personal ads separate from the discussion part of the forum. Here is an interesting discussion about this topic:
