Pregnancy worries

I would really appreciate your feedback (especially if you have conceived while in a poly relationship)
I am trying to have a baby with my husband/primary partner and have been tracking my cycles very carefully. However, last month my ovulation unexpectedly happened days before anticipated and I ended up having protected sex with another partner before I knew I was close to ovulating. The condoms didn’t break and I may have only been exposed to some precum. I had unprotected sex with my husband the following two days in a row (day before ovulation and day of ovulation).
I have a wonderful relationship with my husband and feel really bad about this situation because we agreed we want our biological child together and he really trusts me I’m being careful about this.
How would you handle this situation? Would you be worried? Thanks in advance.

I had protected sex all the time with Boy when I was not preventing/ got pregnant with Hubby.

No doubt the child is Hubby's. Looks, attitude, and genetic testing proven (for fun, not for necessity). Lol

You're probably fine. Condoms are very effective. Precum can contain viable sperm, but it's usually not much. Did you actually have penetration or more just external simulation before the condom went on? One is obviously more risky, but again... unlikely to get pregnant from precum in general.

Thank you so much for the reassurance. There was no penetration without condom, just precum on the top of the condom and on fingers…also no noticeable condom failure.
I’m just so lucky to have such good relationships and really worried things could have gotten wrong.
I really appreciate your perspective, it’s awesome you have a lovely daughter ❤️

Hello LisaMonnet,

I imagine it's a little tricky to try to get pregnant with one partner, while trying to not get pregnant with another partner. Condoms would probably do the trick, but I'm thinking you can't always predict exactly when your next ovulation will occur. Having said that, I don't think you need to worry too much in this particular situation.

Regards,
Kevin T.

Not sure how you are tracking cycles, but if not doing it already? You could do BBT charting with pencil and paper, or use one of the many websites or apps available for that now. In general, I found basal body temp charting and checking cervical mucus type helpful for both trying to conceive (TTC) and trying to avoid (TTA). When added to condoms on the partner you don't wish to get pregnant by? It can help.

GL on TTC! :)
