Hello, my name is Holly (she/her) I am polyamorous, polysexual and making my 40th lap around the sun this year. I was in a mono marriage up until 6 years ago, I had been with my ex husband since the age of 14 and stayed in an abusive and toxic relationship far too long for the sake of my kids which I now realize wasn't the right thing to do. Once I ended my marriage, I immediately jumped into a relationship with a then friend who was practicing ENM without knowing the terms of it. He never had a partner who was truly accepting of him and his lifestyle, and I decided if I was going to be in a polyamorous relationship, I had to do it right. I read books, blogs, and joined Facebook groups for support while learning to navigate this new life. I had found that some people in the Facebook groups were a bit harsh for my liking, and thought I would benefit from meeting people from my area of the world where people tend to be more likeminded than other areas. I created a local Facebook group which is one of my proudest achievements since starting this journey. We have such an amazing supportive community, we really helped each other cope during quarantine and have built some great connections. When they say "it takes a tribe" Polyamory is what comes to mind because it really feels like we are a tribe, and life just makes so much more sense. Through the Facebook group, I have made other connections and am now working as a Marketing Manager (I have NEVER done this before so it's all new to me) for a new Polyamorous dating app. I took on this role because I really believe in the vision of the creator who wants to give our community the space they deserve to make real connections. I am currently struggling in my primary relationship, but that is for another thread.
