Hi, all. I'm Kristin. I'm forty eight, married, and have three grown kids. I have been wrapping my head around polyamory for about a year now, and have yet to have a serious additional partner. I work from home doing tasks to support my partner in our business as well as managing our property. Only one of my grown children still lives with me full time. I have four very needy pets that I still care for, however. I am pansexual and demisexual, as well as neurodivergent. I walk about five miles a day and a great deal of that walking is done indoors while I read at the same time - one of my quirkiest skills, I guess. I am a gourmet cook and I love good, ha and beautiful, food. I have done professional food photography is the past which I enjoy a great deal. I volunteer at a local queer outreach center in my area on a weekly basis. There are some things that I can bake without using a recipe and I can still recite all of the presidents in order because of a song I learned in choir as a child. I love to sing and preform, but my stage plans took a dive in childhood due to my inability to read music. I am really hopeful that with the new research being done on the topic of dysmusica, which has yet to be added to the family of visual spacial processing disorders, that more children will be allowed to pursue their passions without being dumped by their educational institutions. My favorite book is Half asleep in Frog Pajamas, my favorite movie is The Birdcage, my favorite band is Nirvana, and my favorite musical is The Book of Mormon.

Greetings Kristin,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. I noticed in your profile that you are an atheist; I am an atheist also, so, something we have in common. I look forward to your future posts; it sounds like poly is still somewhat new to you. Let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Welcome!

I love The Book of Mormon. It's hilarious with so many catchy tunes! And I'm also an atheist, trivia nerd and night owl. :)

Hello and welcome, Kristin.

I'm sorta a musician, meaning I was a professional musician but no longer gig except a bit here and there. I still make music for my personal delight. I love Birdcage as well and have played in local productions of the musical. (La Cage aux Folles)

I know a lot of awesome musicians that would tell you that those who can only perform music by only reading music are the ones with poor ability. I know plenty of of awesome musicians that don't read at all too. That's not to say it isn't an important skill only that it isn't necessary, and I encourage everyone to play/sing on! Most people love music, but making music is a whole other level to loving music, and anyone can do it to at least a personally meaningful level.

You sound like a very interesting multi-faceted person who would be fun to hang out with. I hope you find some new partners who appreciate you in your entirety. :)
