Hello from Chicagoland!

I voted early last year, came home, and promptly checked out of everything political to focus on grad school and academic life. As things become more intense, though, I feel increasingly eager to seek out and participate in community.

So, hi! I'm working on a master's and have three jobs (two of which are unpaid internships). I am super busy, but even as an introvert, I acknowledge I need a little more socialization than I'm getting. Let's be friends! Everyone in my life is very mono, and I love that for them, but gosh, it's super annoying sometimes. I am single and childfree on purpose. Relationship-escalator this, relationship-escalator that from my friends is beginning to grate in a new way.

Oh! I'm demisexual. This information is added at the end of this introduction because I see people adding this level of info in their intros, but I'm really just looking for my people, not DMs about being a unicorn or whatever.

Greetings athyret,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

You sound like a fun and interesting person, good for you for working on your master's and keeping up with three jobs, I could never do that and admire you for it. Keep reading and posting and you will be able to make new friends here. Monogamy is fine but it's nice to have people understand your poly inclinations!

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!
