Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

7:00 a.m., Saturday the 6th

I have gotten up early today as Brother-Husband, Snowbunny, and I have a road trip pending with Stan. Last night the three of us ate out for dinner (Black Angus), something that's always a happy occasion for me. After dinner we got ice cream at Baskin-Robbins.

Thank gods, all of the news from the doctor appointment was good news. The time before, my kidney function scored in the low 50's. That's not good. This time, it scored in the upper 60's. That's good. The doctor was relieved, and I was too. I'm taking medication to help my kidneys and apparently it's working. The doctor talked about getting off that medication in the future, but I am inclined to stay on it. The same goes for the Metformin I take, to lower my blood sugar. The doctor talked about getting off that in the future, but why get off it if it reduces the chances of me getting diabetes? That's my official medical opinion.

12:54 p.m., Sunday the 7th

The road trip was fun, we drove up to Santa Fe, checked out the various shops, and ate lunch at a place called the Pantry (Dos -- their second location). It was a heavy lunch, so we just had a light dinner. TV dinners. I had Amy's veggie lasagna, which is quite good as TV dinners go. BH and I watched the first episode of a new series, Pluribus. It was really good, unfortunately we only have a temporary promotional subscription to the host network, so I don't know if/how we're going to be able to see the rest of it. Stan didn't come over for dinner and a visit as he had only gotten two hours of sleep the night before, and needed to turn in early. This concludes my riport.

11:48 a.m., Monday the 8th

For dinner last night we had salad, chicken, and spaghetti squash. It was mostly good, only my piece of chicken was all rubbery, unpleasant to eat. I didn't have the heart to say anything about it, I just muscled through it. I know SB goes to a lot of trouble to make us a nice dinner, so, you know. I figure this was a one-time thing.

3:04 p.m., Tuesday the 9th

Last night we had salmon, leftover squash, and green beans. Nothing was rubbery, so I was relieved. Tonight I guess we're having (veggie?) chicken nuggets, plus the leftover beans. There's a Rally class tonight (for one of the dogs? Ginger I think?), so SB didn't want to make anything too involved. Not much else to tell you at this time.

12:47 p.m., Wednesday the 10th

It looks like SB is cooking Polish sausage, veggies, and sauerkraut in the slow cooker for tonight. That always makes for a very tasty dinner. There's no Rally class tonight so SB has a bit of extra time. Eddie (I think) has a Rally class tomorrow, so dinner will be something easy (maybe TV dinners). That's all I have to tell you for the moment.

1:14 p.m., Thursday the 11th

I think SB is making bread today, sourdough, using a 700-year-old starter from Switzerland. The plan is to have bread tonight, along with a main course and whatnot. Pretty involved for a Rally class today (Eddie). I am extra stressed-out today, I don't know why.

1:47 p.m., Friday the 12th

The main course last night was lentil soup, it wasn't bad as soup goes. The bread was also good. Tonight we're having veggie burgers or turkey burgers, plus baked beans. Tomorrow we're having Mexican lasagna, something I've never heard of but it sounds tantalizing. Early tomorrow, BH and SB will go on a small road trip with Stan, mainly to visit some thrift stores on the west side. SB asked me to sit this one out, and as a reward she promised to bring me some kind of drinky-drink. Sounds like a good deal to me.

12:40 p.m., Saturday the 13th

Turkeyburgers. We had turkeyburgers. (And baked beans.) Today, BH and SB got home from their road trip not long ago (at about 12:15 p.m.), and Stan will come over soon. SB got me some Irish cream, and BH snagged some Dirty Monkey (banana/peanut butter whisky). Also they brought donuts. This concludes my riport.

1:44 p.m., Sunday the 14th

Yesterday was an excellent day. The Mexican lasagna was really good. The drinks included Tequila cream and Drambuie. All really good stuff. And it is always fun to have Stan over, he is a fun guy.

3:11 p.m., Monday the 15th

We actually hooked up with Stan again yesterday, the four of us checked out an outdoor German marketplace. It wasn't like OMG, but SB did pick up a frozen roast and some pastries. We just had leftovers for dinner, but I was good with that, as I, along with SB, had the rest of the Mexican lasagna. BH had a sandwich, possibly with some other leftover takeout. Tonight we are having leftover lentil soup, and salad with chicken in it. Not very exciting, but SB said she'd make green chili Mexican lasagna tomorrow. The one we had was red chili. Anyway, I'm sure looking forward to tomorrow.

2:42 p.m., Tuesday the 16th

Slight change of plans: We had big salads last night, and will have lentil soup tonight, plus turkeyburgers. I assume the green chili lasagna is still pending, but I don't know when we'll have it. Yesterday, SB had a doctor appointment, and she's always had high blood pressure, but this time it was so high that they sent her to urgent care. As far as I know, it has come down somewhat; she has renewed an old prescription for it. Also they have told her to not have any caffeine, so it looks like I am the only one in this house drinking regular coffee.

12:12 p.m., Wednesday the 17th

No changes in plans so far, we had the soup and turkeyburgers last night, plus mini naan bites which was nice. I think SB told me what we were having tonight, but I can't remember what that was. That's all I have to tell you at this time.

3:37 p.m., Thursday the 18th

SB made the green chili lasagna for dinner yesterday, I thought it was fabulous, but she thought it was too plain. Stan is scheduled to come over for dinner tomorrow, I don't know what we'll have. Pierogi maybe.

3:07 p.m., Friday the 19th

So we actually had the pierogi last night, tonight BH will pick up some pizza from Il Vicino. The pierogi SB makes are large and have a cottage cheese filling, you melt butter on them and they are quite good. Il Vicino makes good pizza, but it is also relatively low in carbs because it has a thin crust. This concludes my riport.

1:35 p.m., Saturday the 20th

As it turns out, BH got the pizza (and salad) from Dion's -- my favorite pizza place. We got three pizzas, one of which was a 505 -- my favorite kind. It's like a cheese and pepperoni, plus green chili. Stan joined us for dinner, then stayed to watch the Muppets' version of a Christmas Carol. Tonight, BH has a Christmas party for his work, SB will go with him, and I will probably walk to Kelly Liquors and get a little something. I'll fix my own dinner, possibly leftover pizza and salad.

12:43 p.m., Sunday the 21st

I got myself some Rumple Minze, I am having some right now. BH and SB are away somewhere, probably a road trip, maybe with Stan. SB left the dogs two kong treats, which I gave them, so we are all happy. Yuki is really brave nowadays, she comes right up to the dogs, even though they are bigger than her. This concludes my riport.

12:44 p.m., Monday the 22nd

We had pozole for dinner, it was good. Stan joined us, we all had a fun time. Eponine and John will get together with us later this week. This is all I have to tell you for the moment.

4:10 p.m., Tuesday the 23rd

We had leftover pozole last night, tonight we are having salad. One of the dogs (Ginger?) has Rally class tonight, I told SB I'd eat when she gets home (presumably that's when she'll eat, not sure about BH).

12:58 p.m., Wednesday the 24th

BH made the salads, he ate his right away, SB and I ate ours after she and Ginger got home from the Rally class. Later today BH, SB, and I will get together with Eponine and John, I don't know what the plan is, but I expect the five of us will have a good time, we always do. That's all that's going on for the moment.
