Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

3:08 p.m., Tuesday the 30th

Last night Snowbunny prepared Alaskan cod for us, it was good although she thought it should have more taste. Also she made a kind of gnocchi soup for us, the soup had a creamy base and spinach, mushrooms, and diced onion. I'm not a gnocchi fan as a rule, but this was pretty good. Brother-Husband went to see New Mexico's new hockey team (if I remember right), so he ate later after he got home. Ginger had a Rally class and Snowbunny took her to that, both dogs have a Rally class tonight. Dinner will be Beyond Beef veggie burgers, plus some leftovers.

1:14 p.m., Wednesday the 1st

SB says dinner tonight will be salad with beets, chicken, and feta cheese in it. Tonight I might get a haircut. Tomorrow SB and I think BH will head south with the dogs for I think a Barn Hunt trial in Las Cruces, so I will be on my own for a few days. After that, SB's mom and stepdad will be visiting from I think South Carolina for a few days. Then the week after that I have a colonoscopy. Busy week/month, right?

4:07 p.m., Thursday the 2nd

For my salad, SB substituted blue cheese crumbles instead of feta crumbles, and offered blue cheese dressing to put on it, which I gladly accepted. SB would like blue cheese if she wasn't allergic to it, it gives her stomach problems.

We experienced our first negative reaction to poly after dinner, at the hair place. One of the ladies there seemed to think SB and I were having an affair, she grilled us about who BH was, and if he was SB's husband, then who was I. She kind of gave SB and me the evil eye. Not very professional. Luckily the lady who cut my hair was totally nice, totally professional. [shrug] I guess the first lady's negative reaction didn't kill us, we just didn't feel like explaining ourselves out in public like that (and I doubt it would have helped if we did).

BH got off work maybe two hours early, so I assume he'll be leaving with SB and the dogs soon.

2:32 p.m., Friday the 3rd

BH, SB, and the dogs, left before dinnertime; I made myself a chili potato and was very happy with it. Tonight I'll just see whatever Campbell's Chunky cans are available to me, or whatever besides that. BH, SB, and the dogs, should be back sometime later tomorrow night.

12:57 p.m., Saturday the 4th

Last night I had Campbell's beef/barley soup, I don't know what I'll have tonight, the current estimate is that SB's mom/stepdad will arrive here before BH and SB. They (especially he) are right-wingers, so hopefully politics won't come up. They didn't come up last time they came to visit, so that is a hopeful sign.

11:41 a.m., Sunday the 5th

So yesterday between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m., the house went from having one person (me), to having five people and two dogs. The visit with SB's folks has gone well so far, the five of us went to Applebee's for dinner. I had steak, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. At the moment, I think everyone but me (and the dogs) are out visiting various thrift stores. I might "join the gang" later on. SB has put a roast in the slow cooker.

1:40 p.m., Monday the 6th

Luckily politics have not as yet entered into our conversations, however SB's stepdad has been observed watching some kind of whacky news channel (probably Fox but who knows). He couldn't help but announce that the democrats have staged a coup against Donald Trump. SB and I didn't comment, even though he seemed mighty enthused. BH is at work today, but will be off tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. SB and her folks are in Old Town right now; I stayed home so as to catch up on my internet stuff.

2:58 p.m., Tuesday the 7th

BH, SB, and SB's folks went out for a few hours, it gave me a good window for taking a shower (both bathrooms are needed to keep up with five people). They just got back, or maybe they dropped BH off and went out again? I can't tell for sure.

12:35 p.m., Wednesday the 8th

After I got up today, I found a stick-it note on my computer, it said, "Be back this afternoon. Please give doggies a frozen kong after noon. Will bring you back alcohol. Love -- SB." The kong treats are rubber containers filled with frozen dog food. Eddie seems to have lost interest in his, Ginger stole his and was working on both of them, I took one and relocated it a ways away, but Eddie still wasn't interested. Anyway, it's just me and the dogs here until BH, SB, and SB's folks return.

2:58 p.m., Thursday the 9th

SB got me a bottle of eggnog, I polished it off (with a little help) after dinner. The five of us watched a movie after dinner -- "The Cutting Edge," it is BH's favorite show. This was my second time watching it, it's not my favorite but I did find I liked it better the second time around. Maybe I adjusted my expectations. We've all been eating at home this week, aside that outing at Applebee's. Last night we had chicken, squash, sweet potatoes, and corn. Not sure what the plan is tonight. Tomorrow, SB's parents might start their drive back to their home in (I think) South Carolina. Today, SB and SB's stepdad have been working on the TV. I think they were running the cord through the wall, not sure if that was all.

3:47 p.m., Friday the 10th

When I got up today, the house had gone from five people plus two dogs, down to just one person, me. BH went to work today, SB took the dogs to a Rally trial in Los Lunas, and SB's folks are on their way back to their home in South Carolina. SB and the dogs just got back. I hear Ginger did a super good job, and Eddie did a good job too.

Dinner last night was leftover chicken, squash, and sweet potatoes, the corn was all gone so we had peas and carrots instead. Also there was jalapeño corn bread, bought earlier at Sprouts. BH was enjoying some Canadian whisky with root beer, so SB made me a couple of amaretto drinks. This concludes my riport.

2:20 p.m., Monday the 13th

On Saturday, we went on a road trip of sorts with Stan. On the way back, we visited a local animal shelter, and adopted a cat. The shelter had given her a long, complicated name, so we changed it to Yuki (with an i I think, rather than a y). She's two years old, up to date on all of her shots, and fixed as of a few days before we adopted her. She's a short hair, with a coat kind of like a snickerdoodle color, like vanilla brushed with cinnamon. The word yuki is Japanese for snow or snowy. Beautiful cat, easygoing and affectionate. We're slowly integrating her into our household, for now she lives in the guest room with a baby gate blocking the doorway. BH has been sleeping in there, so she has company at night.

12:05 p.m., Tuesday the 14th

We had leftover curry pork, so SB made us curry pork sandwiches for dinner, sloppy joe style. As sides, she prepared shelled soy beans, and peas and carrots. Nothing too exciting going on. Yuki jumped over the baby gate, and got a premature introduction to the dogs. Surprisingly, Ginger was the one who did well, while Eddie acted up. Anyway, SB has ordered a taller gate.

1:49 p.m., Wednesday the 15th

So SB gave me the more complete story, I guess Ginger was sticking her nose in Yuki's butt, while Eddie was trying to eat Yuki. So both of the dogs misbehaved.

For dinner last night we had veggie burgers and leftover veggies. My dinner tonight will be jello, as I have a colonoscopy tomorrow and can only drink light-colored transparent liquids today.

5:15 a.m., Thursday the 16th

I had to get up early this morning (c. 4:00 a.m.), to drink the rest of my lovely Gatorade drink (mixed with laxative). Not to give you TMI, but at this point I am passing a green/blue liquid. Bizarre.

12:49 p.m., Friday the 17th

The colonoscopy went well. I slept through it, owing to the general anesthesia. They didn't find any problems, other than a few polyps which they removed. It was nice to have some real food later on, we had takeout from Jasmine's (Greek/Middle Eastern) for dinner. Tomorrow BH and SB will go on a small road trip (in town) with Stan, SB asked me to sit this one out and that is fine, hopefully she'll prepare a couple of kong treats for the dogs.

10:23 a.m., Saturday the 18th

We had fajita wraps for dinner yesterday, it was really good. Also we all had a drinky-drink, to put it in BH's words, "Life is good." BH, SB, and Stan are driving around town, Stan will later join us here for dinner and a visit. SB will make her famous tuna/rice/fried onion crunch casserole. Not much else to tell you for the moment.

3:57 p.m., Sunday the 19th

Yuki now has a tall cat gate in front of the guest room, she'll eventually have the run of the house but we're still giving the dogs some time to learn how to behave around her. I guess it's lucky she was in a shelter, she was already accustomed to confined quarters, and in fact the guest room is a lot bigger than the space she had at the shelter. She seems to be content with the situation for the moment. We actually got three cat trees for her and placed them strategically here and there throughout the house. So when she does get free rein, she'll have ways to escape the dogs if they misbehave. I think one of the trees is in the guest room with her.

2:38 p.m., Monday the 20th

SB made us a turkey roast in the slow cooker for dinner last night, also as sides we had plain veggies and a special rice dish. A little while after dinner we watched a Better Call Saul episode, and the latest South Park episode.

1:53 p.m., Tuesday the 21st

SB made us veggie burgers last night, plus as sides, baked/seasoned potato slices and salad. Tonight the dogs (both?) have Rally practice, so SB is just doing TV dinners for us. I know, I shouldn't complain.
