Or instead of BMI, go ahead and write it out (Body Mass Index).
I know what BMI stands for, I just have no idea what mine is or even how it's measured. Do people generally know their BMI??? Is this standard?
If general fitness is important in a partner, it's fine to say so. Why not just say it? "I keep myself relatively fit and I appreciate others who do, as well." That, to me, sounds much more appealing and understandable than indicating a preferred BMI number.
