looking for friends - no preference

Hey there,

Restating my title. Anybody intrigued enough to reach out is bound to become a friend. I moved to a new state about two years ago and I still don’t know anyone. Not having a social circle has been emotionally draining, so I’ve allowed work to consume my life. I live in a town for retirees whose daily agenda consists of mornings at the med spa, dropping their grandkids off at music lessons and afternoon skiing lol. There’s only so much I can do to integrate as a 19 year old. It doesn’t feel like I’ve gotten a chance to know anyone here and it’s been quite isolating.

I have a boyfriend of 5 months and three play partners in a nearby city, though I’m not entirely sure I consider a 4 hour drive “nearby.
It would be nice to know more folks.

If you listen to a bunch of music, love to travel for concerts (I just got back from a concert in Manhattan) and new scenery, I think we may get along.

Greetings pyramidgal,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I would be glad to be your friend. I hope Polyamory.com appeals to you, and I encourage you to read and post a lot, and let us know if/whenever you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks, kdt :] I appreciate the greeting.

I see in your profile that you’ve dappled with a career in music. Do you have any familiarity with Riopy, Patrick Watson or Mendelssohn? And who are your favorite composers or musicians?

J.S. Bach is my favorite composer. Of modern groups, my favorites are Alan Parsons Project and Rush. I'm also a huge fan of the Fresh Aire series.

Rush was a progressive rock group. They were huge in the early 80's. I'd say their most popular song is Tom Sawyer. Recently their drummer and lyricist passed away, so they no longer have a group.

Alan Parsons Project (don't know if the group still exists) was a famous soft rock group, a couple of songs they were famous for were "Eye in the Sky," and "Time (flowin' like a river)."

Fresh Aire was a series of eight albums by (Chip Davis and the) Mannheim Steamroller. Basically all eight albums were instrumental music, with quite a range of styles.

Rush had quite a range of styles, they tended toward hard rock but they did some softer stuff too.

Apparently they're the kind of group that either you hate them or you love them. Personally I think love is the appropriate reaction when they produced such a wide variety of music.

Since you're looking for friends, did you want to say what state you're in, to narrow it down a little? Maybe it's NY, since you mentioned Manhattan, but it could be NJ or NE.

Or do you just want online friends?

Sure, I’m in Colorado. I thought it would be redundant since you can already see that in my profile.

Online or direct, however it manifests. I travel a fair amount so online friendships can become in-person too.

This actually is not a dating site. It's a place to come to discuss polyamory, get and give advice, etc. So not everyone is checking out each other's profiles like you would on a dating app.

You might get some DMs from people wanting to be friends or date you here. But in general, the best way to make friends here is to participate in current threads, or start some of your own in the appropriate forum. :) I've made friends with people from other countries, and met some who live right in my own area that way.
