Please hear me out!

Hello! My name is Laura and I'm currently studying BSc Applied social science. For my dissertation I am focusing on the dynamics behind polyamorous relationships which satisfy the need that couples in these relationships feel would not be met in traditional marriage/ monogamy. I would much appreciate it if anyone could fill out my questionnaire for me please. It will only take five minutes, promise!

Please and thank you :)

Couples?

Do you mean each dyad within a polycule? Or have you fallen into the monocentric normative way of thinking of polyamory as "adding" people to a couple?

I do see your point...
I've changed it to individuals... I know that in the polyamorous community there is a variety of relationship structures, and that its not just 'couples' with a 'unicorn' :)

I completed the survey. I liked that it had open ended questions but one question I couldn't answer properly about rules and expectations because it defaulted to the primary/secondary model.

The other thing the survey did not explore is the perspective of the solo poly person. This could be someone who is not yet or doesn't want to be in what you call a "primary" relationship. The question about rules and expectations might not show how this person who is often a "secondary" partner has rules and expectations dictated rather than discussed.

Thankyou so much! I did try to shorten the questions, but that’s definitely something I’ll look into. Thankyou :)

Hello Laura,

You asked for my email address, and that is something I would rather not give out. I did, however, complete your survey to the best of my abilities. All told, it took me about 14 minutes. I considered it an easy survey to do. Good luck with your research.

Sincerely,
Kevin T.

I threw in my two cents! I hope you get a lot of responses; this is a great place to find the information you're after!

The email thing is understandable, thank you so much for your participation!

"My name is Laura, and I am currently studying for a BSc in Applied Social Science..." etc.

I corrected your grammar/syntax in your OP above. It doesn't matter so much here, but on your actual study, you'd look more professional with proper wording that reflects your true situation and needs.
