Scheduled my first date!

I'm a little excited. I've been hitting the dating apps for a while and not really having too much success. I had a few matches, but none of them really went anywhere. I posted a personal on the polyamoryr4r subreddit just for fun and I got one response! We've been chatting for a few days and she's agreed to go out for coffee with me!

I'm super excited. This is the first date I've been on with someone other than my wife in over a decade. I feel like a high school boy all over again. What do I wear? What do I say? My brain is going in 50 different directions at the same time.

I know that feeling all too well. Seems like yesterday I had my first date in decades. It was three years ago. Just be yourself and have a good time without any expectations for the date or any kind of relationship. You are just going to see if there is any chemistry between you and if you enjoy each others company. I hope you have a great time.
 
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed just making out on the couch like a teenager again.

Please, please keep your expectations low. Of all my first dates, maybe 1 in 10 got a 2nd date.

However, women are nicer than men (yes, I said it), so maybe your chances are better, since the huge majority of my first dates were with men. I only dated 3 women compared to first dates with dozens of men. Come to think of it, 2 of the women did get 2nd and subsequent dates, and only 1 didn't,

Yeah, I'm not expecting for her to rush me home to get my clothes off, but it would be nice to go on a couple dates with her, maybe get a smooch or two...

Well, I'm glad I didn't get my expectations too high. She deleted her account now and I have no way to contact her... Oh well, back to the drawing board, I guess...
 
Well that's a bummer. I hope you'll still get chances to date in the future.
