You picked a great board to learn more about polyamory. Just FYI, we are NOT a dating site, so don't expect to make romantic connections here. Our Dating and Friendships forum is more of a place to dump confused people who think we are a dating site. But you might make some friends in your state/country (with a tiny chance you'll find a romantic relationship-- never say never), or long distance.
In fact, we are a discussion board, a place to get information and advice in order to avoid poly-dating mistakes and overcome difficulties with opening up to ethical non-monogamy. Please check out our list of resources here:
I'd recommend the book Opening Up, which is geared towards solos, as well as couples, in regards to everything under the banner of ethical non-monogamous relationships: polyamory, as well as swinging, either vanilla or kinky.
And the next basic complete resource is the podcast Multiamory.
