Wow that must have been scary! Glad to know you returned to safety.

The hike sounds intense. Jeff and I hardly did any hiking when we went to Banff. We got tired easily because we don't do any hiking normally lol.

11:57 a.m., Thursday the 27th

By the time I got down from the mountain, it was after midnight. Altogether, the entire hike lasted about 18 hours. Luckily the search and rescue team had headlamps (including an extra one for me). Derek had a flashlight so that's what he used.

Yes, it was a hell of a hike. One for the books. I was completely out of shape, and really had no business hiking to the top. But, with the altitude, fatigue, and dehydration, I just wasn't in my right mind. I guess I'm still glad I summitted, but I'm also pretty sure it was the last time I'll ever do it.

It was pretty scary, right up to the point when the search/rescue team showed up. After that, they assuaged all our fears. Anyway, thanks for the votes of gladness that we got down okay. That is the most important thing.

Oh wow! I would never attempt that! I’m so glad S&R was there to help you.

2:40 p.m., Friday the 28th

I can't say enough good about the search and rescue team. It's hard to describe how reassuring they were about everything. Lots of little things they did to help. Just as one example, they had pain killers for me, as well as something to ease the nausea. (Further up the mountain, I had nausea and dizziness. The dizziness went away, but I still had some nausea.) They would have carried me down in a stretcher if I had needed it. Luckily, I was mostly able to walk down on my own (though they did assist me on the occasional rocky step down).

I'm glad I made it to the top of Timp this one last time. And I do think it was the last time.

2:25 p.m., Saturday the 29th

I'll probably be leaving soon (with Snowbunny) to do a little shopping. Tomorrow, Snowbunny leaves to go on a week-long work trip (in Washington state). Brother-Husband and I will be on our own -- We'll be somewhat lost, but we might have some fun.

Last night we had takeout from Flying Star. I had my usual egg salad sandwich (with a side of coleslaw) -- really good. Tonight I think we're having leftover fish (salmon).

4:18 p.m., Wednesday the 2nd

Yesterday and today I enjoyed a bottle of Jägermeister. I would have had Rumple Minze but Kelly Liquors wasn't carrying it (the guy said he was going to fix that problem). Last night BH got us subs from Subway for dinner. The night before, we had chicken enchiladas. And we've been watching Better Call Saul episodes, maybe we will tonight as well.

4:48 p.m., Thursday the 3rd

We did watch another episode last night, for dinner I had leftovers (two pieces of pizza, and an enchilada), BH had a TV dinner. Don't know what the plan is for tonight, BH got home about 15 minutes ago. SB flies home tomorrow, but I don't know what time her flight is.

4:15 p.m., Friday the 4th

We watched another episode last night, for dinner BH heated up some microwave burritos. I asked him if he knew what time SB would be getting home, he said he wasn't sure but thought it would probably be late. SB posted on Facebook from the plane in SeaTac, I think maybe at about 2:00 p.m. today? so if it's a four-hour flight, she might get home by 7:00 p.m. tonight. Definitely don't quote me on that.

3:08 p.m., Saturday the 5th

Well my estimate wasn't too far off. She got home at about 8:00 p.m. (and brought takeout for dinner from Taco Cabana, which made me very happy) ... and that was with her flight being delayed, due to a disruptive passenger who had to be removed. Meantime, BH and I watched a Better Call Saul episode. We are almost done with the whole series (six seasons if I remember right). I highly recommend Breaking Bad and both of its spin-offs (El Camino and Better Call Saul).

3:15 p.m., Sunday the 6th

We watched another episode last night; dinner was chili and a potato (possibly my all-time favorite dinner after restaurant fare). BH and SB are out running errands, unfortunately I was asked to stay home, fortunately there was a hard seltzer in the fridge that I could have.

5:22 p.m., Monday the 7th

Dinner last night was a salad (SB gave me a small salad plus two microwave burritos). Last I heard, we'll have pizza tonight. SB is at Barn Hunt and will get home late (c. 9:00 p.m. or so). BH and I watched an episode last night, and I don't know if we'll watch another one tonight (while SB is out).

For the last few days, I have been more stressed-out than usual (unknown reasons). Fearful. Too scared to get out of bed (until later than usual). Meanwhile, my scabs, bruises, and burns (from the Timp hike) are gradually healing. My legs are pretty much healed. It no longer hurts to crouch and then stand up.

5:47 p.m., Tuesday the 8th

We did watch another episode yesterday, and now we just have one more episode to go in the entire series. We might watch that tonight. Last night BH had pizza delivered (Domino's) for dinner. SB heated hers up after she got home. I'm not sure what the plan is for dinner tonight.

2:33 p.m., Wednesday the 9th

This forum has been relatively quiet today, so I am getting around to this blog sooner than I did yesterday. BH and I did watch the final episode of Better Call Saul last night. It was pretty satisfying. I would recommend Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Caul Saul, to just about anyone.

SB took Ginger to a class last night, then brought home takeout from Golden Pride for dinner. Chicken and ribs -- and coleslaw. Not bad. I don't know what the plan is for dinner tonight. SB ordered groceries (from Smith's) online, BH will pick them up (they will bring them out to his car), I think on his way home from work.

3:29 p.m., Thursday the 10th

We have the cleaning lady over at our house right now, she comes over every other Thursday, and works from about 1:00 p.m. until about 5:00 p.m. ... She's super nice, and super professional (and if I may make a confession, super hot). Anyway, on Thursday, September 7th, BH, SB, and I will be going to a Ghost concert. Now I like music, but I prefer it sitting down. A (rock) concert means hours of standing in one place, sigh. BH is a huge fan of Ghost, I can't tell you how huge of a fan, and I didn't have the heart to say "No" when he (and SB) invited me to go. I guess I'll wear my hiking boots, in case that will help. Meanwhile, the concert starts at 6:00 p.m., and that is one of the cleaning lady's Thursdays which end at 5:00 p.m. ... and that's cutting it really tight. BH is bummed about that part of things, but I am letting him and SB work that out however they will.

For dinner last night, SB made us some kind of pasta with cabbage and bits of bacon. Also we had a tasty bread that was infused with bits of garlic. It was pretty good. And SB broke out some wine to go with our dinner. I was quite happy about that.

5:03 p.m., Friday the 11th

SB prepared chicken in the slow cooker for dinner last night, along with some mac and cheese, coleslaw (leftover), and tomato/cucumber salad. Not sure what we are having tonight, I think (hope) we might be eating out for dinner tomorrow. And I think Sam will join us for that (or at least be invited). On Sunday, we have a 7:30 p.m. appointment to have our pictures taken. Tonight, SB has a Barn Hunt practice (from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). That's all I can think of to tell you for the moment.

3:08 p.m., Sunday the 13th

Yesterday SB took me shopping for clothes for getting our pictures taken tonight. After that we ate out at a Polish place with Sam, then we went on a road trip with Sam. The Polish place was good, the food was really good, but they made us wait way too long to take our order and bring us our food. We still might go back there, on a day when they're less busy, or we might get takeout from there sometime.

Dinner Friday was leftover chicken plus mac and cheese. Yesterday, since we had a heavy lunch, SB just heated up a TV dinner for me. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. is when we'll have our pictures taken, and I don't know whether we'll have dinner before or after that.

4:20 p.m., Monday the 14th

My wish came true -- the three of us ate out after our pictures were taken -- at a sushi place no less. As for today, I don't know. SB will be gone until after 9:00 p.m. (Barn Hunt). I don't know if that's too late for her to bring us takeout for dinner. I can only keep my fingers crossed. Tomorrow's gonna be crazy busy. I have a dental cleaning to look forward to (4:00 p.m.), and then the dogs have a couple of classes to go to, and again, I think it might be rather late before we have dinner. I'm a little tired right now, I don't know if it's from thinking about how busy/crazy today and tomorrow will be.

6:58 p.m., Tuesday the 15th

I got done at the dentist at about 5:00 p.m., there wasn't enough time to get me a frappuccino on the way home, but the good news is that they (BH and SB) will get takeout for dinner on the way home (from the dogs' classes). That and the fact that I had no cavities, thank gods. Early last night, c. 4:00 or 4:30 p.m., dinner was a turkeyburger and salad.

3:53 p.m., Wednesday the 16th

So dinner last night was indeed takeout -- subs from Subway. SB said she would be cooking for us tonight -- alas not takeout. But who knows, she might make something I like. Apparently the dogs did good in their classes. Today is less busy than yesterday (and Monday).
