Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

2:46 p.m., Sunday the 10th

Snowbunny got home about an hour ago, the dogs are barking outside in the backyard, Rainee is asleep on my bed. For dinner last night, Brother-Husband brought subs from Subway. Then we watched a movie, "Murder Mystery." I don't know what we'll do tonight. There is a "Murder Mystery 2," I don't know if we'll watch that.

3:19 p.m., Monday the 11th

Our cleaning lady ("Jill") has come over today, and is working right now. She wasn't able to come over this last Thursday, SB thinks it might be because of family issues.

SB got home yesterday somewhat earlier than I expected. For dinner we had takeout, from a Middle Eastern place. I had a gyro and a Greek salad -- and we each had a piece of baklava. Really good stuff. BH and I didn't watch anything, this time around.

1:29 p.m., Tuesday the 12th

For dinner last night we had takeout from a Chinese place. It was really good. BH and I watched Murder Mystery Two. Not like OMG, but fun. Not much going on today, I don't think the dogs have any classes. They have Barn Hunt tomorrow.

7:11 p.m., Wednesday the 13th

I think just Ginger went to the Barn Hunt tonight, Eddie stayed home. (He is still recovering from his knee surgery.) I'm pretty sure all three of our rats went (Larry, Curly, and Moe), as well as our gerbil (Fred). We had dinner before SB left: chicken from the crock pot, cooked carrots, and one of my favorites: steak fries. I am trying to stay awake, as SB will be cleaning in and around the rats' cage when she returns around 8:30 p.m.

Do dogs chase your pet rats and gerbil?

3:26 p.m., Thursday the 14th

I wouldn't say "chase" exactly, "hunt" is a more accurate word. Or even just, "look for." During the hunt, each rat (as well as Fred the gerbil) is enclosed in a hard PVC container (with small air holes), so it would be impossible for a rat to get hurt by a dog. But I've never heard of a dog trying to hurt a rat, they just want to find the rat, in the PVC container, hidden amongst bales of hay or straw. The dog then signals to his/her human, and that's how the human (SB in this case) knows where the rat is. The human then signals to the judge (if it's a formal competition). The more rats a dog finds, the higher the dog's score will be. Usually the dog has about five minutes to hunt, if I remember right. Also the dog is expected to show that s/he can jump up on a bale, and that s/he can run through a tunnel in the bales. Usually it's just a practice, but about once a month there's a formal competition known as a "trial." At the trial, the dog can earn ribbons and titles.

So is it like the dogs are solving a maze by sniffing out the rats' container? Is it done in three dimensions, or two?

No, it's a three-dimensional activity. I mean it's done among stacks of bales. And yes, the main part of the activity is that the dog sniffs out the location of the rats in their containers. Then the dog has to signal to his/her human, in a way that said human can recognize.

That sounds like such a great activity for terriers, who were bred to hunt rodents! It's nice of your rats and gerbil to help.

1:16 p.m., Friday the 15th

Yeah Fred and the rats are good helpers. It's surprising the range of dog breeds that do Barn Hunt.

5:01 p.m., Saturday the 16th

SB has been making some special brownies for me. THC I hope (rather than CBD which doesn't seem to affect me). She and I went shopping yesterday -- at Smith's where I was able to pick out a bottle of port. For dinner, we had tuna steaks, with sides of rice and vegetables. I don't know what we'll have tonight.

2:46 p.m., Sunday the 17th

I had one of the brownies today, and it seems to have had a substantial effect. There are eight more brownies, and SB says at the most I should have one brownie per day, so that's eight more days, at least.

We had tacos for dinner last night, and SB said we'd have a green chili chicken stew tonight. We started a new series last night. There are seven episodes in it, all three of us watched the first episode. It's called "Midnight Mass." Looks to be a horror series, the first episode was interesting but slow. Seven episodes won't be enough to develop the story unless they pick up the pace, anyway that's my thought on the matter.

2:56 p.m., Monday the 18th

Today I ate the brownie in the middle of the pan -- it being the largest brownie. I am enjoying my high, it probably bends and hampers my normal abilities, but I am enjoying a break between me and reality, between me and the anxiety I normally feel.

The plan for the chicken chili has been pushed forward to tonight; last night we decided to order pizza from Il Vicino, via DoorDash. It was good pizza. Different from the usual fare. I'm pretty sure we'll be ordering more from Il Vicino in the future.

Also we (all three of us) watched Episode Two of Midnight Mass. The pace picked up a little, but I still don't know if seven episodes is enough to develop the story (at the current pace). It is getting more interesting. The first two episodes were over an hour each, so, more room for story development. As it stands I'm less sure it's a horror story, there hasn't been much horror yet per se.

I enjoyed Midnight Mass, though the end gets pretty wild. The pacing actually reminds me of Stephen King - slow build to establish the characters then all hell breaks loose. Quite literally.

You could take the brownies out of the pan, wrap them individually and freeze them. That way they won't go stale before you get to all of them.

If that's working well for you, why not do THC on a daily basis? I know lots of people who smoke or eat it every day (even more than once a day), to battle anxiety, depression, even the symptoms of mania that comes with being bipolar. You can buy edible gummies with THC (not CBD), or bars of chocolate. You can also vape THC discreetly, and it's easier on the lungs and throat than smoking flower.

Maybe you and SB have considered all this already, but I'm just curious.

4:03 p.m., Tuesday the 19th

In general I would say that I'm not having THC all the time mostly because of the expense -- that and the difficulty of preparing special foods at home.

Sounds like Midnight Mass does quite a bit of building up near the end. I look forward to it.

The chicken chili was okay, it was very salty (all three of us noticed that). SB said she'd get some potatoes to add to it, to absorb some of the salt. She said she probably wouldn't use that recipe again in the future.

And now for some music.
That's my favorite of Ghost's songs. They played it at the concert -- so cool.

4:08 p.m., Wednesday the 20th

Yesterday we had some more chicken chili (I think SB threw the rest out), and some tacos (with bowl-shaped tortillas). I thought it was pretty good. I don't know what we're having tonight.

4:04 p.m., Thursday the 21st

We had takeout from Krung Thai. Really good.

The forum isn't very busy today. Maybe I will get caught up on things.

4:44 p.m., Friday the 22nd

Last night we just had pasta/meatballs (turkey meatballs I think) for dinner -- not terrible, but not what I'd write home about. Today, the dogs had Barn Hunt Trial in Corrales, I believe. Eddie did so-so, and Ginger jumped on a bale and ran through a tunnel, but didn't find any rats. Tomorrow just Ginger is going, Eddie is staying home.

4:35 p.m., Saturday the 23rd

SB and Ginger just got back from Barn Hunt Trial a few minutes ago. BH should get home from work any minute now.

Dinner last night was takeout from Flying Star. I got an egg salad sandwich (by far my favorite from there), and coleslaw. For the next few days, some relatives will be visiting us here, we will probably be eating out with them but we don't think they'll want Flying Star. So we got it while we could.
