Middle couple, new to the life and looking for knowledge and insight.

We are a middle aged couple, interested in the Poly life. this is 80% her and 20% him.
She is an introvert with Bi-curious tendencies, 45 thick. we have experimented with Shibari and mild BDSM activities and wants to step it up.
He is extroverted, open and explorative, 54, latest BDSM test produced Rigger, Dom. Sensitive.
we are both new to the poly life and really don't know where or how to get started. Is there a community in the Charleston, SC area that is helpful and not a meat market/ hook up culture?
 
Have you tried looking for local events on Fetlife?
 
It sounds like you are posting as a couple who is kinky, and the female wants another female partner to play with. Are you also interested in long term polyamorous relationships, or are you just looking to play as a couple in some sort of threesome arrangement?

You might want to search for a poly group that is local to you; you could do that by googling "Charleston SC polyamory," "South Carolina polyamory," or "polyamory" with the name of any major city that is reasonably close to you. Hopefully one or more poly groups will pop up. In the meantime, kick back and make yourself at home on Polyamory.com, read various threads and let us know if you have any questions. Polyamory is a wide-ranging topic, with much to learn about it, and this forum is an excellent starting point for that. Glad to have you with us!

As posted, we are new to this lifestyle. We are looking for information and/or guidance into how to enter into it. We aren't necessarily looking for a long term situation but are open to it. We aren’t looking for just a hook up, but how do you know it will or won’t work out without trying.

If you're completely at sea and just want basic information about what open relationships, including polyamory are, and how to do them, I'd recommend reading the excellent book called Opening Up, for starters.

If you have specific questions, feel free to start a new thread in our Poly Relationships section. :)
