New to poly but think this place is great

Wife suggested we find a 3rd, so we went to a bunch of sites and joined and checked them out. Most were just scams, it appeared, then others were ok. We talked to a few on the phone, Facetime, etc., etc. One almost worked out, but relocating got too much for her. Anyways, found this place tonight and seems great filled with great people that share advice and are honest. Don't know how the dating is on here but don't matter because the info is PRICELESS.

Hi,

This is not a dating site. It is a place to come to get advice and maybe make some friends. I guess occasionally someone might find a partner here, but we are scattered all over, so don't expect more than a LDR.

Finding a "third" to "add to your relationship" is almost doomed to failure. Polyamory is often depicted on mainstream media as "throuples," but that's just because FMF threesome sex is the top male sex fantasy.

Therefore, successful poly people, even couples, usually date others one-on-one.

Greetings SeekingUnicorn4Life,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Polyamory.com isn't really designed to be a dating site, but it is a great place to find info and learn about poly. Keep exploring our various threads and boards, and let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!
