Hey there, folks!
Here’s a bit about me: I’m 35, demisexual/pan-romantic, cis woman. I’m married to my lovely nesting partner of 10 years (and friend of 20+ years) — 36/cis male/pansexual — who has been supportive of my newfound interest/understanding that I am discovering I’ve likely always been polyamorous.
Husband was a bit confused/concerned at first, but has been open to discussion/education regarding the subject. He has since grown to be supportive of me, and polyamory, and has shown an interest/willingness to open up our relationship (beyond the current theoretical).
Currently, I’m involved in two other unusually intimate friendships that have periodically edged into more romantic territory in the last six months — though nothing too concrete beyond a few kisses in one relationship months ago (and it hasn’t really come to anything) and some date-like handholding in another. (I swear I am a grown woman, but ffs, I get giddy about small affections).
We live in a conservative area in California, and everyone comes from conservative families, so unfortunately this journey has been fairly isolated to just me, tbh. My husband hears all about it, though, and he’s helpful in encouraging me to continue to put myself out there, though I am not actively looking to date/new partner(s).
I’m here because I want to know more about polyamory. I have been reading books and blogs, trying to better educate myself. I also have aspirations to go back to college for a degree in psychology emphasizing on human sexuality and gender studies, so I find polyamory incredibly interesting both personally and professionally.
I’m a creative jack-of-all-trades who loves arts and crafts, theatre and costumes, baking, tea, and interesting conversations. I’m a feminist, pro-vaccine, liberal, and not afraid to fight for justice.
I’m mostly here to make friends and better learn how to navigate this world, so thanks for reading this far.
