Forum upgraded - report issues in here

Photos aren’t imbedding anymore? I tried to post one in my journal today and it just showed as a link instead of the photo. I deleted the post since that’s not what I was trying to do!

I have directly messaged the administrator about the avatar pic problem, as at least a couple of members have said the site wasn't letting them upload.

We know, we just need to wait for an admin to review the issue.

Please consider this post a request for a greater variety of options than Male or Female when signing up/editing profile.

When deleting something ive written it goes character by character then after about 20 when its supposed to jump to entire words, it slows the single character delete considerably. Only happens on this forum. iOS. Makes it hard to delete large quantities of text.

Hmm! I've never had that happen. Restarting your computer doesn't help, I suppose? I'm a tech idiot, so that's all I've got.

This used to happen to me. I upgraded my phone and the app and it stopped

The database server was upgraded from MySQL 5.7 to 8.0. Please let me know if anything doesn't work.

@kdt26417 is the avatar issue resolved, or should I look into it?

I was just able to change my profile pic to a 1Mb .jpg

The avatar issue isn't resolved as far as I know, my vote would be to look into it.

I've seen brand new members with avatar pics in the last few days.

It would be nice if there was an option to delete old posts. I don't want posts from 2015 on my account anymore. Another thing I noticed this forum doesn't have is an option to delete account like other forums do.

I believe that’s considered a feature.

I don't know why its not offered.

I am not the owner or a moderator so I can't speak with any authority at all, but I can appreciate why they might have made this decision.

This is a publicly searchable forum, and an educational resource for people new to the concept of polyamory. Regular forum posters put a LOT of time and effort into their replies, not just for the OP but for everyone else who accesses the material...even years later. If people delete their posts then the context of those responses is lost. We frequently link or point people to posts where someone had a similar experience or where a topic was discussed previously, this effort would be disrupted if posts are deleted well after the fact.

You may want to peruse the "user guidelines" posts to understand how this forum is intended to function. You have a certain period of time (12 hours, as I recall) to edit your posts - in case you posted in haste. You are encouraged to choose a user name and nicknames for others to obscure your identity and to not disclose private information that would identify you. Think of posting questions here like writing to "Dear Abby" - the newspaper is not going to go back and burn copy from the archives just because you changed your mind!

They changed it to 24 hours because of people bitching about 12 hours not being enough.
